Conventional machining (cutting)

The direction of feed in relationship to cutter rotation that produces cutting forces parallel to the the feed direction.

In a conventional milling machine this produces less vibrations and shaking because each cutting flute pushes against the acme lead screw and limits the affects of backlash. See also climb cutting
